How does the Go Mumbai Smart Card Work:

How to Get Going:

Commuters can buy the Card at Service Delivery Points (SDP) across Mumbai. The commuter has to pay a one time cost of Rs.37/- which includes a card issuance (activation) fee Rs.10/-, a refundable security deposit of Rs.25/- and the ID card cost of Rs.2/-.

The commuter pays only Rs.5/- per month as facility usage charges per application. With Railways & BEST Bus Services being defined as 2 different applications a commuter pays Rs.5/- per month if the usage is limited to any one transit service. In case the usage is on both the transit systems the user pays Rs.10/- per month over and above the transit fares as defined by the Transit Service Providers.

The E-purse on the card can store a minimum of Rs.50/- to a maximum of Rs.2000/-. Subsequent top ups can be made depending on the cash balance on the card.

Go by Train

As a regular commuter on the Central route here’s all you need to know about Go Card and how it operates while embarking on a journey.

How to use the Go Mumbai card as a Single/Extension Ticket on Railways?

Flash the smart card on first/second class validator at the origin station and on another corresponding validator at the destination station.

Fare is debited at destination station depending upon the type (first/second) of validator to which card is shown.

If the card is not flashed at the destination station, maximum possible fare on the transit service providers route is debited from the card.

In case a passenger with a pass or smart card wants to take an extension journey, he needs to show the card at origin and destination. The validator at the destination will debit only the extension amount and not the full amount.
